     EVENING SHOWS

Look, look up! On the western stage
The cross gods with golden masks wage
A nuclear war! What for? Mark,
In a yellowish lava park
A football match? The ball is kicked!

Watch! The vast apple by a sword
Is cut, but wait, is it devoured
By a monster?  Nay, the hot sun
Goes for a dip in the ocean!
And, there shoot the incandescent
Plumes out from the sinking crescent!

Note how the scarlet carpet shines!
Riped tomatoes dug from gold mines
Smashed and smeared, some made smooth paste
And served on stratus slices!  Taste!
Behold the transparent horses
Trotting in a field of roses!

Now march the dainty Bantu girls
Balancing buckets full of pearls!
And there, trumpeting elephants,
Dancing whales and drumming serpents!
See here, some dig the dark deeply,
Graduate and gather neatly!

And thus bids the Lady farewell
To her Lord, and rests for a spell.
Scenes, scintillating, are over;
He that has missed is but a loafer;
For these movies may morrow change.
This is a theatre so strange!

This is a stage where we can see
What our minds long for and fancy:
Picasso's art exhibition,
Shakespeare's plays on television,
Kambar's poetic intellect,
Anything - what our minds project!

These evening shows do captivate,
Cleanse, stimulate and cultivate
The mind, presenting purity
And ecstatic longevity! -
An antidote for all worries
Wrought up by man's quaint queries.

Spectacular entertainments
Nature to one and all presents
Daily, free, varied and unique
In theme and production technique.
Grand panoramic pantomime!
But to enjoy, man has no time!
